Nach längerer Vorbereitungszeit, die der Informationssammlung diente, selektierte Cathy Lloyd 1993 ihre erste eigene Alpakaherde und gründete ihre eigene Alpakazucht „Eringa Park Alpaca Stud“. Dafür reiste sie quer durch Australien.
Viele Importe aus Amerika und Peru folgten, wobei der Fokus auf Feinheit und Dichte gelegt wurde. Sie bereiste Neuseeland um dort Erfahrungen zu sammeln. Schnell erfolgte auch die Teilnahme an Alpakashows mit einem eigens aufgestellten Showteam.
Nicht nur die Herde expandierte immer mehr, auch die Interessensgebiete erweiterten sich fortlaufend. Mit ihrem Wissen und ihren Erfahrungen half sie vielen Neueinsteigern in Australien und England eine passende und gesunde Herde aufzubauen. Sie gibt Seminare im In-und Ausland und berät ihre Kunden in allen Fragen zur Zucht und Haltung der Tiere.
Auf vielen nationalen und internationalen Shows nahm sie sehr erfolgreich teil.

Ausbildung

2005 - Abschluß der BAS Judging Level 1, 2 and 3
2008 - BAS-Judges Rezertifizierung
2009-2015 - fortlaufende Weiterbildungen um die Zulassung zum BAS-Richter beizubehalten

Richtererfahrungen

2007 bis 2015 richtete Cathy unzählige Alpakashows in England, Australien, Belgien und in der Schweiz.
Wir freuen uns nun sehr Cathy Lloyd zu unserer Alpakashow Ost in Burgstädt begrüßen zu dürfen und wünschen ihr interessante Richtererfahrungen und gesprächsintensive Tage!

General Alpaca Experience

1993
First acquisition of alpacas.
Spent many months investigating and collecting all details on alpacas possible.
Purchased our first group of females and a couple of stud males.
Travelled throughout Australia selecting our alpacas.
Established our stud, Eringa Park Alpaca Stud.

1994
Acted as agents for an interstate stud.
Selection of groups for sale in South Australia.
Slowly acquired more alpacas for our herd depending on their attributes, ie, phenotype, breeding, fineness and colour uniformity.
Initiated the purchase and import of our top US male, Ruffo.
Selection of show team.
Participated successfully on the local show circuit.

1995
Managed quarantine of our United States imports.
After selection of a group of top males from America they were imported to Australia and quarantined for 12 months on farm at Eringa Park.
Offered a selection of services to the males for females with the correct selection criteria.
These females remained on farm under quarantine conditions for the 12 month duration.
Participated successfully on the local show circuit.

1996–2000
Breeding
Spent these years concentrating on our breeding practices.
Managing herd growth and development
Continued success in National show circuit.

2001–2003
Herd expansion and Peruvian imports.
Trip to New Zealand to expand knowledge of the industry and breeding quality, as well as cement relationships between agents and clients.
Selection and subsequent purchase of a large Australian herd.
Selection trips to Peru for our 2003 import, these trips involved selecting alpacas according to our strict criteria for fineness, evenness and complimented density.
Continued success in National show circuit.
Continual herd evaluation and breeding.

2004–today
Expansion of our alpaca interest
In control of over 3500 alpacas worldwide.
Assessments and subsequent purchase of the Arunvale herd.
Trips to the UK and Europe to enhance both knowledge of the alpaca industry there and the quality of breeding stock.
Initiation and successful merge of the Arunvale and Atlantic herds (two of the larger and well recognized UK-based studs).
Show team selections in Australia and UK.
Advice to clients on their breeding programs and help selecting the right genetics for their herd.
Continued success in Australian National show circuit.
Continued success on the UK show circuit.
Continual herd evaluation and breeding both in Australia and the UK.

Education
2005 Completed the BAS Judging levels 1, 2 and 3.
2008 Successfully completed BAS Judge’s recertification.
2009 – 2015 Continuation of BAS approved Judges’ clinics and Calibrations as per the CPD scheme to stay current as a BAS judge.
